How to Support Your Skin at Home
Good menopause skin care begins long before any in-clinic treatment. As oestrogen declines, the skin barrier may become more fragile, so supporting it at home can make a meaningful difference to how your skin feels from day to day.
A gentle, consistent routine focused on hydration and barrier support will often serve menopausal and perimenopausal skin better than an overly complicated regimen. Depending on your skin, ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and niacinamide may be considered alongside a well-formulated moisturiser. Daily broad-spectrum SPF remains one of the most important steps at every age.
We take an education-first approach to at-home care. During your consultation, we will explain what your skin needs and help you develop a routine that is effective, manageable and suited to your lifestyle.
In-Clinic Treatments
For many women, at-home care works best alongside carefully selected in-clinic treatments. There is no single treatment plan for menopausal or perimenopausal skin, as the right approach depends on your skin, concerns, health history and goals.
- Bio-remodelling may be considered when hydration and overall skin quality are the primary concerns.
- Rejuran is a polynucleotide treatment focused on supporting skin quality and improving the appearance of fine lines and texture.
- Morpheus8 combines microneedling and radiofrequency and may be considered for concerns involving texture, laxity and firmness.
- Ultraformer III uses focused ultrasound and may be recommended to support gradual skin tightening in suitable areas.
- A collagen stimulator may be considered where gradual improvements in underlying support and firmness are preferred over immediate volume.
- Where appropriate, dermal filler may form part of a broader plan, guided by what supports facial structure and balance rather than simply adding volume.
Your Nurse or Clinician will help you understand which treatments, if any, are appropriate for your skin and how they may work together as part of a considered, long-term plan.
Our Approach
Menopausal skin deserves more than a standard treatment menu. As a clinician-led practice, we take the time to understand your skin, facial structure, treatment history and the wider changes you may be experiencing before making recommendations.
We first consider what is driving the changes you have noticed and will always be honest if less treatment, a different treatment or a broader health assessment is the more appropriate next step.
Through our connection with Livi Health, we can also introduce a separate women’s health consultation when your concerns extend beyond the skin. This creates a more considered pathway: supporting the visible changes through Medical Aesthetic while giving you access to qualified clinical review of the internal changes that may also warrant attention.
We lead with education because understanding what may be happening to your skin and health is the first step towards making confident, informed decisions.
